une 92 curieuse sur NB [1892]
Bonjour,
plusieurs la suivent :
http://www.naturabuy.fr/Carabine-WINCHESTER-epoque-modele-1892-Cal-32-20-item-3769956.html

Good morning from Houston,
I know that this is an old post but I thought I would reply in an effort to put out some information that may be of help to others. Several subtle hints tell us the barrel is not original to the gun.
1. The stamp style on the upper tang was used from SN 1 to about SN 246000. During this entire time period the magazine end cap for the 25-20 and 32 WCF rifles would have had a small tab on it that fit into a groove in the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The current magazine cap is not correct on the rifle.
2. The muzzle of the barrel should be rounded or "crowned" and it appears to be cut perfectly flat.
3. If it was a re-purposed sporting rifle barrel that was cut down the rear sight dovetail should be further from the receiver face than it appears to be. Without clear photo of any additional stamped writing on the barrel it is impossible to definitively determine if it is a sporting rifle barrel.
4. I can not bee absolutely certain but it appears that both the front sight location and the magazine retaining band are positioned too far from the muzzle.
I hope this helps
Michael
Hello from Houston,
I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd reply with the aim of posting some information that might be useful to others. Several subtle clues tell us that the barrel is not stock for the gun
1. The buffer style on the top tang was used from SN 1 to approximately SN 246000. Throughout this time the magazine end cap for the 25-20 and 32 WCF rifles would have had a small tab that slipped off. inserted into a groove in the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The current magazine cap is not correct on the rifle.

3. If this was a repurposed sporting rifle barrel that was cut, the rear sight dovetail should be farther from the face of the receiver than it looks. Without a clear photo of any additional stamped writing on the barrel, it is impossible to definitively determine if this is a sporting rifle barrel.
4. I can't be absolutely sure, but it looks like the front sight location and magazine retainer band are positioned too far from the muzzle.
